Railroad Clubs at the Park

A total of five groups work together to provide an entertaining and educational family and railfan experience at theMedford Railroad Park.

Each is financially independent and relies on donations in order to survive and grow. These donations are not "pooled" among the groups. When a particular group provides a good time for you and your family, they appreciate your support.

Southern Oregon Chapter -- National Railway Historical Society

Railroad cars to tour, motor car rides, a museum, the Medco 4 Willamette locomotive under restoration, a speeder shed, a food stand and more.

Rogue Valley Model Railroad Club

Featuring the Pacific and Eastern HO railroad from Medford to Klamath Falls. This layout incorporates impecable trackwork, world-class scenery, an inovative design and protytypical operation. The Club also has a smaller layout for the kids to run.

Southern Oregon Live Steamers

The Live Steamers are the big draw at the Park with their 1 1/2" to the foot scale trains carrying visitors on well over an actual mile of 7 1/2" gauge track. Multiple trains run through tunnels, up and down hills and over bridges. Right next to the trains, there's the "Beanery" (food stand). Thanks to Richard Wrede and his tunnel13.com web site for coverage of the Live Steamers.

Southern Oregon Large Scale Trains

This group is building a huge outdoor Garden (G gauge) empire at the Park. It features many intricate bridges, water features, mountains, towns and more.

Morse Telegraphers

While they don't have a web site, they are on hand when the Park is open with telegraphy demonstrations and exhibits. Experience an era when communications along the railroad didn't involve radios, telephones or even the spoken word.
